The research grant is not an extra ₹2 lakh of unrestricted personal salary. Fellows must follow the grant's permitted-use, documentation and utilisation requirements. Unspent funds are subject to the applicable rules.

How long does PMRF funding last?

The official PMRF website describes tenure up to the end of the fifth PhD year for eligible B.Tech or equivalent entrants and up to the end of the fourth year for students from integrated courses.
