Notification Overview
CEN 02/2026 covers the recruitment of Technician Grade-I Signal (Pay Level 5) and various categories of Technician Grade-III (Pay Level 2) across all zonal railways and production units. The notification was first indicated in Employment News on 23 May 2026, with the detailed CEN and online application link hosted on the official websites of all participating RRBs. A separate application and separate CBT are required for each pay level — candidates interested in both Technician Grade-I Signal and Grade-III posts must apply twice and pay the exam fee separately for each.
The 25 Technician Grade-III post categories span departments such as Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, and Signal & Telecommunication, and include trades like Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Millwright, Painter, Crane Driver, and Diesel/Electrical Technicians. Eight of these post categories have been grouped into Merged Post Categories (MPCs) to simplify the application process — candidates empanelled against an MPC may be assigned any of the merged designations under that category upon joining.
